Lil, I know exactly what you are going through, as I had the exact same thing happen to me a few months ago?
The stress they put on you is just unbelievable, and they don't care either!
In the end I contacted the people who run the "Carers centre" as I am the only carer for my wife, and they have helped me with other things, and he put me onto another person in their office, who specialised in dealing with these people.
He advised me that. I should never have been on that CSA in the first place, and to go home, call them up and cancel my claim completely?
Then phone the Pension Credit people, and tell them that you have cancelled, and wish to have my Pension Credit allowance reviewed.
I must admit it was a scary thing to do, but I did it, and they were very nice and calm about it.
I couldn't believe that it was that simple, after all them weeks of stress, as not only were they questioning my back injury, they also questioned my physo status with my PTSD, they made me feel like a common criminal?
I sincerely hope your appeal works out in your favour, as I know how these "people" treat us, and they shouldn't get away with it!
Smudger.

That's just crummy Lil, I'm so sorry you had to experience that! I don't know but from over here (and I see only little hints and signs over the internet) it seems there's a crumminess epidemic over there ...

Oops! I made a typo on my post, it wasn't CSA I was claiming, it was ESA, sorry about that Lil.

lil
My experience of JCP was pretty much the same as Malabarista's... although I did have a wry laugh when one of the advisors once suggested a job that was completely inappropriate for me as a wheelchair user (stacking shelves that were way above my head...)

as well Lil I once advised my friend who was attending one of these interviews to record it.
Starting with the statement "I have a memory defect due to my illness and I have been advised to record this interview as it is my right to do so"
Put me more order on desk and refuse to turn it off.
RESULT short polite interview resulting in continuation of benefit. This may have been coincidence but we don't think so.
Also take someone with you out numbering the interviewer is always a good idea.
This assumes your claimis genuine of course

NB the police must by law record interviews and if they do they must provide you with a copy. These folk should do the same as they are trying to catch fraudsters who are criminals I believe these interviews should be conducted in the same way.

If it's any consolation, my sister-in-law has had similar treatment here in Germany. Those bods are the same all over the world.
