Hi Kermit - The Channell Islands are a place close to my heart, though I've not been to Jersey for some years. My time as a waiter and cocktail barman date back to the end of the 70's. smiley - yikes thats a quarter of a century.

One typo - its sail not sale in the bit about Condor ferries.

Jersey also used to ban mobile homes (caravans) they were not allowed on the island, which put off a lot of people who would have been potential holiday makers, year after year.

Hello Kermit, I think this is a good solid piece, though I think there are some good points here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/F1710326?thread=378230 I'm also interested to know whether anyone else in the world has heard the record 'Let's Go to Jersey' which my best mate was forced to dance to as a youngster...
