A Conversation for Games to Play Down by the River

Invented, or more likely, popularised by A.A.Milne and that bear of very little brain, Pooh-Sticks is a wonderful game to pass the hours on a sunny afternoon. You will need: a river; a stick; a bridge and preferably some friends (a collection of cuddly toys will do). Compete with each other by simultaneously dropping one's pooh-stick from one side of the bridge and seeing whose comes out the other side first. A handy hint is to ensure that you drop your stick on off the up-stream side of the bridge.

Pooh sticks rocks! Well, not literally...
I find that using all that pooh is a bit unhygenic though.

Did anyone ever read the particular story where Christipher Robin tries to explain the process of losing his childhood to Pooh? I thought that one was really sad.

That's the second time that joke's been in H2G2. it's also in the forum on the article 'Stick.'
I agree about the Christopher R. losing his childhood story being sad. It made me cry when I was seven.

You want silly jokes?
Why did the koala fall out of the tree?
Cos it was dead.
Why did the second koala fall out of the tree?
Cos it was stapled to the first one.
Why did the third koala fall out of the tree?
Cos it thought it was in fashion.
Why did the tree fall over?
Cos the third koala forgot to let go.
Why did the plane crash?
Cos the pilot was a tomato.
Why did the boy fall off his bike?
Cos someone threw a fridge at him.
Why did the Billy fall off his bike?
Cos Billy is a fish.
This one is more of a riddle but,
How far can a man run into a wood?
Halfway, because then he's running out again
P.S. Virtual Pooh Sticks is sooooo addictive!!!

Virtual pooh sticks?
Alright then, I have a twig of English Elm. It is four and a half inches long and has two knots in it. It weighs 235g. Say when, and we'll drop them together.
