Hopefully I'll be around for a while longer this time before I'm crushed under the wave of work that I'll have this semester...

in other news...I presented my research (in tropical meteorology) at a conference earlier this summer...it rocked...I met a bunch of big names in the field...hung out for a bit with the guys who work down at the national hurricane center...(okay...I stood around in a crouded room and talked with them)...best of all Mark DeMaria expressed intrest in my research...(a leading tropical meteorology researcher)

anywho...figured I'd yet again leave proof that I was here!

the kind of big names that are in the field...usually grazing on grass...



yea...my specific research deals with writing a computer program to look at a satellite image and pick out a type of cloud glob which has the potential of forming into a hurricane. It's an area of research that has surprisingly few people working on it. Currently what people do is they manually go through satellite images to find these blobs of clouds...which is kind of time consuming.

That sounds very clever, and very interesting Supermoo. It sounds as if you know what you are doing and it is appreciated. What next?

Dear godben, the amount of people who have left hootoo or don't post anymore is simply depressing.

Great Godben, I would identify the act of bemoaning lost hootooers on a thread called 'Hey All...I back' as ironic, but they say Americans don't *get* irony, so..........nevermind.

Yeah, I miss them too, Evilclaw.

Its not entirely ironic because said returning person has unreturned since posting this returning thread.

It just feels sparser around here sometimes. Time keeps on slippin', slippin' into the future I guess. I blame entropy, that rascally concept and thermodynamic law.
