We try to greet the recent registrants like yourself & give them some pointers to make them feel a bit more 'at home' here. A prominent feature (at least a visual one) of h2g2 are the <./>smileys</.> ( , , , , etc). Just click on the link, & it'll take you to an explanatory page with links to a long list of 'em. And if you ever need to refer back to the list, just type smileys into the search window. Another thing you might want to look at is the 'picture gallery' @ A692741 ...you just might also want to visit 'spicing up your page' @ A690518 .

Hi Jazz, i've just had a lurk on your page, trying to find out who Trevor Watts was so i'm assuming he is in Jazz catagory.. Jazz is not quite my thing but I do like blues.. I used to be able to nip down to a local hotel on a Sunday afternoon, where they had a jam session, everyone joined in and it was very bluesy.. I really enjoyed it, however the hotel in under new managment and being refurbished so its a fingers crossed one to see if we have the live bands back.. on a Sat night it was very good, (I prefer rock myself) we saw some very good young bands.. oh and i'm listening to Planet Rock at the minute..

Ah sam! Actually Trevor Watts (& The Celebration Band) is/are from The U.K. & not really jazz as such. The band's got 4 saxophones (two of them played by a husband & wife ), & 2 percussionists. They play African, Morrocan/Middle Eastern rhythms...exotic music, very good!

But the club has a blues jam the first Tues of every month...some great local talent there! And we just had a Canadian blues singer (well ok, more rhythm & blues) there on the 3rd & 4th of this month - she was actually born in Manchester I believe. Not sure if you've heard of her - Dawn Tyler Watson.
