How has your place of work changed you?

When phoning people from home, I try to dial 9 for an outside line.

I'm sure I've given my home phone number to customers a few times

I keep my boiler documents on a clipboard inside the cupboard

...you check your pockets for change before going to make yourself a cup of coffee.

You greet callers with "How may on I help you?" -- on your home phone.

I've done that.

I tend to get the occasional parking fine when I go to a car park and forget when I'm in my own car I have to buy a P&D ticket.

I sometimes check that I don't have my phone on me before I leave the house, even if I'm not going to work. Most people do the reverse, I imagine.

At the moment work and home seem to have blended into one :-S

I almost said "cheers love" to my boss the other day when he made me a cup of tea. The wife would not have been impressed.

I'm so tempted this time of year to take my comfy slippers to wear in the office.

I've done that too!

One guy here does bring his slippers in.

A few jobs ago one of the techies worked nights so he could keep an eye on the servers, and shuffled around in his slippers, and a dressing gown over his clothes.

Wasn't sure if he was a tad mad though.

I have fingerless gloves on permanent standby, but that's a good precaution in a building where you can see through the gaps in the window frame and the stonework. Until you stuff them with brown paper towels, of course.

I caught myself thinking about any photo I wanted to take in terms of how well it would fit on the work website - whether it was for work or not

You find out that you're part of the n00bie tour, with the warning that you like to (fill in the blank)...so said n00bie needs to beware.



[Seriously, my office became ground zero every time a cow-irker of mine nuked his lunch...kim-chee is NOT meant to be microwaved, and the smell lingers forever!]

I blipped my ID card pass over my doorbell when I got home once. I was suprised when the door didn't unlock.
