I sometimes check that I don't have my phone on me before I leave the house, even if I'm not going to work. Most people do the reverse, I imagine.

One guy here does bring his slippers in.
A few jobs ago one of the techies worked nights so he could keep an eye on the servers, and shuffled around in his slippers, and a dressing gown over his clothes.
Wasn't sure if he was a tad mad though.

I have fingerless gloves on permanent standby, but that's a good precaution in a building where you can see through the gaps in the window frame and the stonework. Until you stuff them with brown paper towels, of course.
