No objections to that whatsoever. I only object to people missing out "and" in "go and see", and putting the date the wrong way round. Things like that.

In the future, I will try to avoid those things.

Whats wrong with American English? More people speak/understand it (Thanks to the influence of the Entertainment Industries) than British English (or Chinese English for that matter).

The 'English' language has many forms, and a sort of 'International English' is fast becoming the lingua franca of much of the world. British English is no more than a dialect of that, as is American English.
