Personally, I think the lanky, opinionated, bubble-permed climate change denier has a point, a lot of us DON'T trust 'Golden Brown'

IMO, a non-story.

Clarkson is a tit and an ass, he's always been, quite why he gets so much media coverage is beyond me, I mean, asides a few 13 year olds does anyone actually watch that awful attempt at un-entertainment which is err wahtever its calle.d... top gear I think
What 'counts' as news seems to be an issue nowdays though of just folowing all the second-rate non enterties who've some vague connection with TV until one makes a raciest or outlandish comment.... Maybe its because since the smoking ban in pubs we're not getting enough exposure to over-opinionated tits in 'RL'...

So, Scottish politicians are upset at Gordon brown being described as "Scottish" are they?
That he is one-eyed is indisputable. I would contend that he is also an idiot. So why are they upset? It must the use of the word "Scottish".

However, Gordon 'Botttler' Brown, was a sneaky, underhanded, untrustworthy Chancelor who caused some of the mess we are in now, that said I wouldn't trust him to run a drinking occassion in a brewing establishment. He is smarmy and thinks he is PM as a God given right, I would trust him as far as I could throw him!
However, I wouldn't take the mick out of him as he only has one eye, that isn't right, not some PC nonesense, it just isn't right!
.
As to the fact he comes from Scotland, that is SWL's territory, and I am sure he will` be along soon to comment!

My guess is that Clarkson has lost money on his investments, and wants to blame someone. Overpaid presenters who get paid more than they can possibly spend have to do something with their money, and you'd have to be cleverer than Clarkson to invest wisely in the current climate.
Bear in mind that when Clarkson was asked to nominate a 'Great Briton' he chose a man with a French father and an American mother, who was educated in France.
So it is no surprise that he's blaming an obvious suspect in his usual crass style. My heart bleeds for him. Not.

I don't really see the relevance of that, to be honest.

My cricisim of Clarkson is in no way a gesture of support to the Prime Minister, who seems to me to be clean out of his depth. But he's a human being and deserves courtesy at least.
Clarkson is unpleasant and stupid. He has called on the government to stop bailing out the banks and give the money to the British motor industry. He predicted that the Israeli football team would thrash the England team because they were toughened by years of war, then buttoned his lip when England won.

Clarkson is not especially stupid, has good comic timing and Top Gear is rather fun.
This labour MP is kicking up a fuss is just trying to use this to give the BBC a kicking whilst it's down on behalf of the party of government.

Front page of today's Sun
"Sorry I called him one-eyed and sorry I called him Scottish, but ... HE IS AN IDIOT"
So now me and Clarkson are two minds with but a single thought. Don't think he'd like the name Ford Mondeo, though.

I'm still confused. Why do Scottish people consider calling a Scottish person "Scottish" is insulting?

Perhaps because it was an adjective included in a sentence designed to be insulting?
Perhaps that's too simple and there must be a hidden agenda at work...

No idea. RF. The form of his words makes it sound insulting. In rhetoric it's called a triplet or triolet. Turning it round the other way, "young, gifted and black" is clearly meant to be complimentary.
