. .... .gets down on one knee in front of you and lovingly takes your hand. .... .

. .... .gazes soulfully up into your eyes... ... .

i realise this is kind of sudden, and we really don't know each other very well, but i believe in love at first sight and you would do me a great honor if you would consent to be my husband.

. ....trembles in anticipation*. . .. ... .

you know... it would mean the world to me smiley - kiss

*anticipation of another rejection and subsequent consolation prize of kiss, pound coin, or silk dress smiley - biggrin

STRANGELY STRANGE ( A brain on a spring )

Eeek, runs out of door!
.
I was married once a long time ago and someone I know once said to me, not that long ago, if she hadn't married x she would have married me, she described the look on my face as a frightened rabbit caught in headlights!
I suppose that really when a man asks a woman to marry her it is sometimes never really a complete surprise as they have both lightly explored the idea, even subconsciously.

I will let you pick your favourite prize, woman's perogative and all that!
.
I think my ex-wife might have asked me when we were going to get married, which was a long time ago, so maybe it happens more than you would think already.

That depends.

For a start, it would have to be "Would you marry me (assuming you weren't already married)?"

Also, assuming I wasn't already 'cash and carried' I'd probably have to know you a bit better.

I might have a friend or two who could oblige. Are you still available, or have you been snapped up?

Good news, fluffy. One of my friends is interested, but before agreeing he would just like to know your bra size.

(been on travelling last 3.5 weeks so not been on here much)

i am still available and have of yet not been 'snapped up.' (probably for a good or many good reasons)

i cannot cook very well but i can sew... i have been taught both but i am lazy. However, if someone makes me really really happy smiley - biggrin then i am motivated to go above and beyond the call of duty and actually follow a recipe or darn a sock! the results are not guaranteed to be acceptable though.

be this as it may... chances are you all would rather refuse my proposal, right?
(because there is more in it for me if you do... smiley - evilgrin heh heh heh)

. ... .sits back from keyboard and imagines the beautiful silk dresses, pound coins and some fun kisses that will shortly be coming my way.. . . .

visiting family and friends and favorite thrift shops where i browsed the silk dresses and asked the proprietors if they took Pound coins for payment...

gosh, crazyhorse, i need to get the dress and that will take some doing because they don't make them off the rack in my size... and i don't know if fabric stores carry two bolts of one fabric at the same time, usually. smiley - erm ...then i have to find a reputable designer tent maker.

and of course, you have to pick out the ring for our engagement smiley - bigeyes and no woman in our family has ever worn one less than 10 karets....

we will have to arrange to get my father and sister out of the asylums and my mom and grandma out of prison for that weekend... but don't worry, they are not usually violent.

did i mention that the rest of the kids live with me but thats okay because sid and larry are in joovie for the next cupla months and the other 5 will be in elementary school most of the week until summer.

grandpa will of course want to preside at the ceremony... he is chief labomba bushwacker Zebediah from the Reborn Hoodooist Snake Worshipers Church here in town and naturally the Choir will want to sing for us too.

i have to get in touch with my best friend, 6 of 9, who is out of my clone group... our batch turned out pretty good considering it was spilled into the swamp cooler... but they got us all back into our holding tank except for 9 of 9...

most of the bridesmaids are pregnant so that will be touch and go to figure out a date that doesnt interfere with their due dates... and naturally their dresses will have to be made out of elastic material...

you have to find a best man and groomsmen and, in our family, we have the tradition that the groom's parents pay for the wedding smiley - biggrin

so all that considered, and after you present me with my ring, i would say at least 6 months to get ready...

besides... i think we need at least that much time to book the Sistine Chapel don't we, especially with my grandfather's affiliations?

...now... if this all seems too much for you i will understand smiley - hug if you want to back out... just pick out a silk dress, give me a kiss or send me a pound coin and everything will be fine... i won't take you to court.

smiley - kiss
