Plot Summary for
Citizen Kane (1941)
Multimillionaire newspaper tycoon Charles Foster Kane dies alone in his extravagant mansion, Xanadu, speaking a single word: "Rosebud".

Without giving the plot away for people who haven't seen it, Rosebud is a memory from his childhod. But reporters chase around in the film thinking it must have been a woman. I think it's just to show that for all his power and wealth, he was happiest at a very simple time in his life and never managed to recapture that, although it was always on his mind, even at the very last breath.
Perhaps there are connections with Elvis' life there?
