Why dose every body knock the supernatural, I suppose it's 'cos they don't understand it, and thats probely why their frightened of it, I mean people see ghosts walking thought walls and yet they think that ghosts can hurt them, if they go thought walls they'll just go straight through you too! Any way it's poltergiests that are dangerous and we made them anyway

Mycroft Posted May 20, 2001
Cannonballs go through walls and they go through people too. I'm frightened of cannonballs.
The supernatural
Researcher 177402 Posted May 20, 2001
Yes, but ghosts aren't designed as weapons as cannonballs are- does anybody else believe in the paranormal?
The supernatural
Researcher 177402 Posted May 20, 2001
Hang on.. Ghosts aren't designed?? major slip up! in my belief, ghosts are just average people who are trapped (dead) between this world and the next, and poltergeists, tormented ones.

ghosts are little quirks in the human phsyche that doesn't allow us to accept that death is final

Blade Posted May 21, 2001

Ahh! what age group are you in? Because if you're quite young it's dangerous to have such a closed mind about things, you know.
I Believe in all kinds of paranormal activity- except paul mckenna.

There is nothing closed minded about seeking out a rational explanation for something, rather than appealing to "the supernatural" which to me is a long name for a shrug of the shoulders.
People conflate "supernatural" with "unknown" or "unidentified". There are a great deal of things that are unknown at present, but this does not mean that they will not be explainable by current scientific paradigms. Even if a change of paradigm were considered necessary, I sincerely doubt that we would change to anything remotely related to the set of beliefs that those expousing the supernatural subscribe to.

Exuse me but, what IS rational to you, for that matter what is reality to you...
ther may be things that are not explainable by science, though in time many things may be explained. "Paranormal" is not an excuse for not finding out about things, it is the perseption of a point were the mind still funcions beond what is explainable...
because we found out that electricity was not a paranormal phanomana
dosn't mean nothing is!
In the same way, it IS possible to prove/disprove ANYTHING.

Nice conversation, But ghosts are not all there is to the supernatural! I cant' even attempt to list them all but here is some other things maybe worth talking about. Just to keep things going a bit.
S.H.C. or Spontaneous Human Combustion
Telepathy
Precognition
Reincarnation
And my favourite.. UFO's
All the subjects involved in the supernatural are hard to prove conclusively yet they are equally hard to disprove.
Most people spend their time at a 9-5 job and then go home to their family and kids. It is my theory that because of this behaviour people spend most of the time being rational. Indeed, being rational is what protects us in our every day life.
Although the result of this is that people like this have no contact with the supernatural, And when either confronted with it or a story about it they instantly block it out or discount it without any proof to the contrary. The proof that is presented is usually close minded and generally insulting to witnesses inteligence or honesty.
If anyone has any questions on the paranormal ask Fox Mulder I'll be happy to help

I lived in a house which was previously owned by an under-taker...no problems although some might not think that way...
On entering the morning room I noticed the most wonderful fragrance .........yes thats the best way to describe it ..... I was quite puzzled as it was such a strong dominant aroma and I could not place as to where it was coming from...I went into the kitchen to be followed by my son who had just also been into the morning room thinking I was in there ..... he asked me what the smell was in that room .....Of course I couldnt answer him with any thing positive as I just didnt know but I sure was relieved he had noticed it too!!!
I was then speaking with a neighbour and she informed me that the previous owner (the undertaker) had died at the house... I replied "Oh that dosnt make me feel uncomfortable ...but I wouldnt mind knowing which room ? " Her reply was " Oh in the morning room....he was sitting in the chair by the fire having his tot of whiskey and just fell asleep and passed away."
WELL that made me think !!
Any one know out there as to why the beautiful fragrance ????
" I Know "

The smell was perfumed enbalming fluid?
Maybe like flowers? the smells of different flowers are said to have many effects as aromatherapists will tell you. If it did smell like flowers it would be interesting to know what kind.
