Hi Textbook Chaos, and welcome to Peer Review!
Firstly, we unfortuantely have an Entry on Pooh Sticks already: A246188
Your story isn't one that I've heard before - the accepted history for Pooh Sticks is from the Winnie the Pooh stories of A. A. Milne. What were your sources? It sounds like an interesting legend, though.

Hello - I see you are a new member here - so maybe haven't fully read the <./>writing-guidelines</.>
You also need to spend a bit of time looking at other entries here in <./>Peer-review</.> and how this part of h2g2 works in practice.
It comes down to the fact that Peer Review is for non-fictional entries, but there are other parts of h2g2 where fiction is welcomed.
B'Elana, your ACE, who welcomed you, has given you a list of links on your personal space, and she will be the best person to ask for further advice about how this place workds

You can still have it as a normal Entry on h2g2, but not necessarily as part of the Edited Guide (which is the bit that Peer Review is for). It won't get published on the front page and show up if people browse the Guide unless it's an Edited Guide Entry.
If your story is fictional, you may be able to polish it up and have it published in the <./>Underguide</.>, which specialises in stories, personal accounts and other fictional entries that are not suitable for the Edited Guide. Have a read through the link above (and any else that take your fancy!) and see if that suits you any better.
On the other hand, if your story is a myth that has been told in several sources, you may be able to present it as an article about the myth, going into the history, different sources and accounts. There are a few Entries about specific myths - try checking out C26 for example of Entries that talk about myths.
If you made it up yourself, I rather like it!

I'm afriad I don't know the Entry you mean, so I can't really comment.
It is also possible that it's an early Entry that was written before the current guidelines came in - there's a few that wouldn't get through Peer Review these days.

No, I don't know what you might have read either - but there is a great deal of difference between our conversation threads (forum conversations) and the Edited Guide.
I suggest that you look at the list in Peer Review - and next your entry you will see a link (remove)
If you click on this, it will take your article back to your home page - and you can then decide where would be the best place for it - possible the Alternative Writing Workshop would be a good starting point.
I hope this helps!

Hi TBC,
As somebiody above said, it sounds an interesting legend.
If it's authentic, there are two things you could do with it. Either:
(1)Add it as a Conversation' at the end of the Edited Entry on Pooh Sticks at A246188, or
(2) Update the existing Entry to include your information.
As the existing Entry is quite short and your version is so fascinating, I would be in favour of option 2. However, you would need to see if the existing author is still around ( I didn't think to check on this before writing this posting) and, if so, ask if he/she minds.

Heya - try the <./>UnderGuide</.> Have a read of this link and see if it takes your fancy. Apart from that, you have your journal but that's not very public.

Just to clarify, Textbook Chaos, lest you be confused...
This can't become an update of the existing entry, simply because you've made it all up. Updates of entries are more complicated than "normal" edited entries, anyway, since they aren't checked over by a sub-editor. So if you'd like to update an existing entry (some of them are quite out of date), it will have to be completely finished by the time it leaves Peer Review - all style issues, spelling mistakes, GuideML, etc. sorted.
