or is it icecream.

There is no article on icecream in the guide.

I find that quite bizarre as it's got to be one of the most popular foods.

However, since I don't like icecream (never touch the stuff) I don't feel qualified to write an article on it.

I know. I did a search yesterday.

I was trying to find out what makes icecream different from regular cream (whipped double or whipping cream).

Cause I like cream but dislike icecream and can never quite put my finger on what it is about icecream I don't like.

It's a little off topic, but in nearby (for me, anyways) Chippewa, Pennsylvania there's an ice cream shop called The Cow. It's motto is "Home of the Headless Cow." No foolin. It used to have a plaster cow outside of it, and one day a couple of people (who i know of, but haven't met) took a chainsaw and removed it's head. The cow statue was removed and not replaced when they moved farther down the street, but they kept the motto. it's right on their new sign. I was considering making an entry on it.

Not as weird as the story of Mike the Headless Chicken A2309627smiley - yikes

A tasty banana ice cream can be made using solely bananas (no extra cream or sugar). Honest.

hmm...a headless cow. sounds quite amusing. besides, going off topic is a good thing. i was very happy the day i learned the word tangent.

o____o what *is* different about ice cream? good question...i'll try to find out...there's this cool site www.howstuffworks.com that might have it, but i'm not sure.

the "is" was supposed to be in italics-does anyone know how to do that? ctrl+i didn't work...how's *that* for off topic.

You can't include italicised text in an h2g2 thread/conversation but...

Quite a few word processors (eg M$ Word) convert any word surrounded by _underscores_ into itlaicised text (and any word surrounded by *asterisks* is converted into bold text)

So, many researchers _underscore_ or *star* words that _would_ be *emphasised*, _if_ only they _could_ be smiley - silly
