Oh yeah. Weasels. Now I see it. I thought it was the evil giga-goblins having a giggle at my expense.

Funnily enough I installed a "smart" uninstaller just a few hours ago, mainly to get dud entries out of the registry. The uninstaller did naughty things that crashed me, so I thought right, that's going as well. Of course, when I ran uninstall, then Add/Remove Programs, then manually deleted the rest of the muck I could find, what happens? From when I clicked Shutdown | Restart it took 8 minutes just to shut down, then another 4 to restart, and the task bar has been droogy ever since.

So next time I'm down at the pet shop and they have weasels, I'll be sure to give them a virus or two (or maybe a toasted goblin sandwich).

Windows commandment #5: Thou shall not remove anything we don't want you to remove.

I have a friend who is the man when it comes to computers, and he edits the registry himself. But he knows what everything does, and i mean everything. He can scrape windows down to its bare bones, but unfortunately for users like me, this advanced knowledge of the OS is rare, so I'm kind of hands off when it comes to the registry. A little more performance is not worth reinstalling Windows untill I get it right smiley - smiley

Maybe one day I will get around to making Windows my cowering slave.

some bloke who tried to think of a short, catchy, pithy name and spent five sleepless nights trying but couldn't think of one

I believe I have come accross some program with that name (Setup Weasel), but I can't remember where.
