h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Some of you may know about my half sister Christina. She is only my half sister, and after a messy court case she refused to see our father. Because of my unwitting part in it all, she has refused to see me. I have not heard her voice in 13 months, and i havent seen her face in 18. I am supposed to be waiting for her to write to me, but i just cant do it anymore.
With the dark spires of University calling me its hard not to realise how short a time i have left in Manchester. Whilst i love the city itself, it'd be better if there was no other human being within 5 miles of the city centre, then i could really enjoy it (i wouldnt have people come upto me in the pit known as rockworld sayin 'you go to my college' to which i can only reply 'So? whats your point?').

Anyway to get back on the subject. Time is short and precious. My mother is convinced i am going to get a job, but theres no chance, not until those results come through. So a couple of days ago i realised i had two options. I could keep waiting for my sisters to write to me before i left. This way i dont run the risk of upsetting her, but in turn run short of days. Or i can write to her.

So ive decided to do it.

This is probibly one of the worst things ive had to do. I did ask a friend to write a letter to her for me (about a year ago, wonder if she remembers now that shes joined h2g2) but it never happened. So i guess im just going to have to bite the bullet and do it myself, and face the horrifying conciquences if it all goes wrong.

Just write the letter,
Make it from the heart and true,
It might take time, for her to see,
But she knows it comes from you.

I agree with Jack, do it, to begin with just make it a short 'How are you, I'm going to be moving to..........soon, hope your ok love Mark' note and see if she wants to reply if she does write a longer one and go from there

even if she does bend your earhole, she family! she shares something with you, christ, i just don't have the words to say this and it could come out all the wrong way! but i feel so strong about this, as most of my family is spread all over the world cus of the army! just write a letter, your letter, a real letter!

I know she's young but she is your sister, this one letter could start the healing process, it'll be easier to start mending things now than wait until she's 16

You should write to her. I know what it feels like I've not seen my half brothers since a week before christmas. Your in the position where she is old enough to to make her own decisions and for all you know, if what you said about her mum is true, she could be telling her all sorts of lies, you have to put that right.
