I work opposite the job centre So we usually see a few fights or something going off, the other day it was a woman who looked like she'd been out drinking all night, wearing a belt for a skirt having a fight with some bloke in middle of road. Which was entertaining, but there's nasty stuff that happens too.
I've got a friend who's a junior, she was walking between offices, past job centre when a couple of blokes tried groping her
Anyway, about half an hour ago, we heard a load of noise, so looked out the window to see a Japanese Kita(no idea of the spelling) that had been tied up to the railings, jump on top of a little girl! It had a bite as there was blood on her face
Bit scary!

Doesn't the law say it should be muzzled if it is in public? I think you are right though, the owner shouldn't take it out if he can't control it or if it is likely to be vicious.

I think the muzzling laws have various loopholes, that only specified breeds have to be muzzled (pit-bull terriers, rottweilers, etc.). Maybe this is one of the breeds that isn't specified (but obviously should be).

People often think that they don't need to be trained in how to train their pet. I can't sing the priases of dog training highly enough. I can now look back and realise how little I knew about dog psychology and the benfits of using tried and tested methods rather than trial and error with the dog.

I do not believe in muzzling laws. Any breed of dog can be friendly or vicious. I've known too many over friendly pit bulls. Little known fact: more people are bit by cocker spaniels than any other breed.
I think the main problem was that this dog owner left his dog unattended in a public area.

I had a dog called Spats who once bit one of my friends who was in my back garden. The guy ran home and a few mintues later his father arrived with a gun and tried to shoot the dog. Luckily my father managed to convince him to leave and Spats lived to the ripe old age of 13 when he died when my father accidently rooled over him in the car. He wasn't an agressive dog, but he didn't like people in our garden. It was really my fault as I thought that he was locked in the yard when he wasn't. My bad.

When I was very young I tried to pet our neighbor's beagle, while it was munching away at kibble. It bit me square on my bum. Even I didn't blame the dog.
BTW... when you get a new puppy, make sure to pet it and grab it while it is eating. It will learn not to be food-aggressive.

No, I find it's much more fun to encourage that. My current dog always growls at me if I go near him while he's eating. It's very funny. (You have to be there.)
The worst thing that ever happened to me with a dog was a bizzare coincidence I had once where I was kicking a ball for Dodge (that was his name) to chase and he went to grab the ball at the same time. Unfortunatly I was wearing sandals at the time and I kicked him in the tooth. He ripped right threw my toe and caused my infected toe which still plauges me to this day. (Unfortunatly Dodge ran away two days after the death of Spats and I still haven't found him. It's been two years, but I'm bound to find him eventually.)
