The day did not start well. Had a very disturbed night, and if I did sleep, it was very fitful and .
Finally arose at 09.00, feeling very discombobulated, and a bit grumpy.
Followed the usual 'start-of-day' procedures before heading for the Post Office and the lens.
Luckily, the collection was trouble-free, although, as it was only sub Post Office, I couldn't renew my driving license or passport. A chore for another day.
Then a trip on the to Richmond to get some food staples in. By the time I got home, it was 15.30. Where did the time go? Made a very pleasant roast beef and cheese Rustiqué roll, with horseradish on one half, and strong mustard on the other.
However it did mean not being able to get out and try the lens, as the light has gone by 16.00.
Still, it meant doing further work on my delayed entry, and eventually going out for a pint around 22.00. And the Hobgoblin tasted much better.
I wonder what tomorrow has in store?

WOW, your post office sounds amazing. Ours no longer operate at all on Saturdays or Sundays, not for many years. And they were never a place to cash cheques or deal with such things as a driver's license, passport or health card. We have separate federal (passports) and provincial 9the other two) agencies for those sorts of things

It's a P.O. inside a store, as many are now, and is open until 13.00 when it closes, but the store remains open.
Many Government-organised papers can be processed by P.O's, where people cannot do it online or by post.
So things like Pensions, Passports, anything involving DVLA (Department of Vehicle Licensing Authority) etc. can be processed there.
I also had to get top-up stamps, for the international I'd already got, and found out the Royal Mail have either scaled back on the choice of stamps, or this Post Office had reduced it's choices.
I know have loads of 1p and 2p stamps!!!
