MMF - Keeper of Mustelids, with added P.M.A., is now in a relationship. Started conversation May 17, 2009
I have spent most of this afternoon in the weather, which has been a mix of rain, wind and a bit of sun on occasion.
The reason? Today is Kew Bridge Steam Museum's annual Fire Engine rally.
The usual stalwart of 'Jezebel' (whom I've mentioned before) was there. She is a 1916 Dennis fire engine:

She was manned by six male and two female students, and once again it was an impressive display
Another was the Shand Mason Steamer of 1876, that was also in full steam and operating... A real beauty and similar to this one, although today's model had Sedgwick brewery on it:

There was also a 1914 Dennis, number plate DU 179, as seen in a photo below, as well as a 1936 Dennis, also seen below (number plate FPC 448)

Very enjoyable.
To cap it off I have just bought tickets to go and see The Mediaeval Babes in Concert with Mum, to launch there new album. £12.00 a ticket, which is cheaper than the £30.00 being charged at the Royal Albert Hall lat year. And it's nearer!!!

So, all in all, a god day.
Now back to the ironing.

and shiny red things and heavy horses too. Who could ask for more. If only our vehicles were treated with such loving care today, but then pride was a huge feature for those that operated those vehicles, like steam train crews.
Big, big fan of the late Fred Dibnah

I once went to a place that had all kind of old steam machines and from tractors to presses and saws. I found it very interesting. I have never seen an old fire engine but would like to.
