MMF - Keeper of Mustelids, with added P.M.A., is now in a relationship. Started conversation Nov 9, 2007
One of Da Bruvvas has now returned (but then it was my neck of the woods for a change ...)
Roymondo and I had a good time. The only thing I would advise is, anyone going to White City... It is a dry zone... No locally. We did arrive very early so had time to . Luckily Roy knew someone at Auntie who directed us to Shepherd's Bush, where there were two Pubs...
A pub and a not so pub, which we opted for. Not too bad except for the profusion of tv's showing but I had been invited out by Roy, so we chatted and enjoyed each others company... Except I needed the loo... and Crip friendly it was not... I had to descend into the bowels of the Pub, which was do-able, but struggled getting back up as the stairrails were too short.
After a we walked back to Auntie Beeb's and a reasonable wait before the doors opened.
Now time for the 'Please remove anything metal! And that... And that... And would you mind stepping over here, out of the queue... and that... and that. Now empty all your pockets, and you can collect the knife after the show!' Conceirge!!! Well, that was my experience. It is amazing how much metal we carry...
Then another set of steps! Next week is Children in need! Some of them in wheelchairs... Hey! Sort out your entry to your property... We aren't all Sports personalities of the year!
We had our tickets 'stamped' and went on to the Hospitality and a free drink... a 300ml bottle of lager. it was free but I then got the next round at £3:00 a bottle.
Onto the show and more stairs. BBC now stands for 'Bu££er Bl00dy Crips!' Found a seat and sat through an average warm-up comedian, before being advised on how to behave during the show, when to clap, what to say etc... All in all not a bad show, but a lengthy evening...
Oh! And we met all the Stepford wives (Roymondo's description) leaving Strictly Chronic Dancing! What a sight. It proves my adage that women never dress from behind!!! girls!
The actual show was good fun! We both enjoyed it, bearing in mind I'd never seen it. After we left, we chatted, and found we had to walk back to Shepherd's Bush for a as the road was closed for building works traffic. Back to Hammersmith and into a Wearyspoon that looked closed.
First was in honour of the sisterhood who believe they were looking after Da Bruvva'ood's Fred! Except we'd already sorted it. So downed a called, literally, That was followed by Atomic, by which (or should that be ?) time they had closed, and so back to the garage and journey home.
One little aside, as we entered Hammersmith station I saw these cigarette discard bins... and they are recycled Cybermen from Who... Roymondo took a photo... Honest.
We headed for the stop and my was waiting, which Roymondo kindly let me catch!
So, Roymondo, evening I did really enjoy it and hope to do it again soon... company, and a good curtain fall for my week... Hope you got home safe, and look forward to a repeat performance, now we are intrepid explorers and know the watering holes and what to take, and not take!!!

Just back, very tired, no kebaberies open so had a quick cheese sandwich. Had to move downstairs on the first bus as some lesser witted numbskull thought the bus would like to be acquainted with his dubious taste in music but, apart from that it was an event free journey.
I'm tired. It was great. Marcus Brigstocke rocks. As does MMF.
Beware the Strictly Stepfords!

I think you've both been lieing... I think you both had far* far* more alcohol than that report suggests... or so the message on my mobile would seem to suggest... or perhaps it was just a bad line Sounds like fun though BTW, despite the all too famuliar problem of finding a pub which can sell a pint of beer for a reasonable amount which is drinkable and in a sorrournds surrounds that one can tollerate to be in

Hi MMF - Good to hear you had a great time.
Sorry I couldn't have joined you (I'm not working in that part of the world at the mo). I watched that Youtube clip of Brigstocke someone posted the other day - hilarious.
I've heard White City's dry - I guess the Italics Cappuccino Bar was shut too
Hope to catch up at a later date.
