I have for the past couple of months been on a day release course at the local college doing the TUC: Next Step for Safety Reps course. A vital qualification for me to be effective as a Health and Safety rep, but in truth quite a lot of very hard work and it has been a slog.
Part of the course is that you have to do an "Improvement Project" a pretty significant undertaking and one in whoch I choose (perhaps foolishly) one of my biggest bug bears which is the audio equipment we use and the lack of hearing tests provided. This has prooved to be a really difficult project and I have finally finished it and sent it off this afternoon. What a relief....
