I never expected to get even one right answer. I give thanks to the toon who lives in a pineapple under the sea.

I never would have got some of those, like bijoux. That's a word I never use.

to all here. That one gave me a headache.
BG, I first heard the word 'bijoux' at an impressionable age. My 7th-grade world history teacher got most of his 'info' on the Romans from watching Cinecitta gladiator movies...on Saturday afternoons, at what he called the 'Bijou' (pronounced 'BEE-zhou' over in Etna, PA...
I thought it was such a funny thing to call a run-down cinema with sticky floors...

Yeah, run down cinemas is what comes to my mind as well.
Night at the Bijoux for instance.

Oh yeah! The local drive in was called The Bayou Drive In so I confused bayou and bijoux for a while as well.

'I'm paddling my bateau down the Bijou, to my beloved bayou to eat gumbo...'
Sorry, I couldn't get 'Cajun queens' into that lyric.

Bijou seems to be a popular name for dinnerware patterns.

Talk about synchronicity...just after all this discussion and Paul's posting of 'Jambalaya', I heard the same song again.
It's played in the opening of Tig Notaro's 'One Mississippi' on Amazon Prime. We were watching the pilot - the series is coming soon.
I'd recommend it, by the way. But beware of the term 'comedy' - the pilot caused some tears over here.
