You have a small gun, rather like a staple gun I suppose. And there's a sort of dart/pin on the gun that you stick through the label. You then pull the trigger and half of the dart comes forward, taking the thin end of the plastic tag with it so it goes through the hole. A bit like a sewing machine.

I've never put the labels on clothes. It sounds like fun .
I'm sorry about your leg. Has the swelling gone down now?

On inspection....no. But I've got to go in because I said I would and because I might feel worse if I don't...and the dog's giving me evil looks
Clothes tagging isn't all that bad, dull but easy and you can think about anything or nothing at the same time. Also it's a bit satisfying to end up with a huge rack of tagged clothes at the end of it. The only problem is the standing around, I might see what I can do about that...no perhaps not, perhaps it's good for me.

Um well...someone got in touch with me purely to check if I was dead or in prison (obviously neither). I did 3 hours of charity stuff and tried to make sure I was sitting down a bit more, although ended up making a big bin on wheels shoot across the room when I sat on the edge .
Apparently I had an *excellent* piano lesson this evening and I even did some aural and sight reading!!! Oh and there was *more* Mikey-praise. Everyone seems to feel that it's her influence which has meant I'm doing much more...they may well be right of course but don't tell Mikey that for heaven's sake

*carefully avoids telling Mikey anything*
Funnily enough, when I got to the school yesterday, I was asked whether I was from the prison . Speaks volumes.

I always used to put the plastic things on the clothes but forgetting the label... which resulted in many wasted plastic things...

The schools you go to scare me Amy!
No volunteering today and none tomorrow actually. I don't feel very well, strange feeling in my jaw and slight temperature. So I'm going to go to Loughborough and look after Claire who's just come down with mumps...what's the likelihood I've got it too? I figured that it wouldn't matter if I already have it. Also a good excuse not to go to the psych on Monday if I have mumps...not that that's why I'm going to look after Claire, just that it would be a very slight bonus and I really don't feel well anyway.
I shall see you all anon

I don't know whether the schools I go to scare *me* or if *I* scare the schools I go to . I think it's about balanced

Back when I was a substitute teacher, I was forever having to prove that I wasn't one of the students.

That, my dear, is because of the way you look. No matter what you say you don't look your age...which by now should be a compliment I think.

They give us little cards in case we get asked to prove that we ARE the students Although my photo is horrible. But it does get me cheap swimming at the town swimming pool. But that's about it

Forgot to say, I am now officially signed up for college.
There's induction days on the 7th and 8th July, however I'm definitely not going to the second (games and sports day) and I MAY not go to the first...depending on how I feel closer to the time.
The only *compulsary* bit of the day is afternoon registration, and if I miss classes it doesn't matter too much as long as I'm there most of the time and keep up to date with the work. Wednesday afternoon I'm supposed to do an hour's volunteering but if I do it outside college then I can do it any time and have that afternoon free, so I'm pondering doing my charity stuff still. The head of 6th form kept telling me that I would feel odd with all the 16 year olds but that this and this and these things were available and people did this and blah and I just kept smiling and saying I wasn't amazingly social anyway and I was sure it would be fine.
I do now feel like a wrung out dishcloth though, and I'm supposed to be leaving the house in....20mins. Let's make that an hour and 20mins instead

Well done, Kat! Which courses are they letting you do?
Home KAT
Kat - From H2G2 Posted May 26, 2005
Eng Lit
Geography
Maths
The head kept saying that universities would find it strange that I only did 3ASlevels when I got such brilliant GCSE results...but I just smiled sweetly and said I didn't think it was a good idea but perhaps I would pick up another ASlevel next year.
Key: Complain about this post
