Special characters on a foreign keyboard

Hi,
I have a French-Canadian keyboard, which has an assortment of non-English characters, like e-acute (é), other accents (ü ê á ç è), fractions(¼ ½ ¾) and some others, e.g. (¦ ¬). These show up on my screen, but do they appear on yours? Are these acceptable in GuideML texts?

They show up in mine!
If they are needed for your entry then you can use them.

They are ASCII characters so you should be fine, with a bit of searching you can find some of them such as ¬ on the British keyboards too.
I have the advantage that I am using an AZERTY French keyboard whilst having it think it is a QWERTY UK keyboard which I know almost off by heart. Therefore I have easy access to the éèçà type keys by a quick change in which keyboard the computer thinks I am using!

Thanks, folks.
My keyboard is standard UK, but Windows thinks it's French-Canadian, so I have to remember where the keys are. It's great for confusing my visitors!

For Edited Entries or other entries using GuideML, it's better if you use proper GuideML character code instead. For instance:
e with an accute accent = &eaccute;
a with a circumflex accent = â
o with a grave accent = ò
a with a ~ (tilde) accent = ã
o with an umlaut (two dots above it) = ö
c with a cedilla underneath = ç
However, for normal forum postings, your keyboard should be fine
