First Ever Children's Food Festival

I originally sent this to my local BBC area site but it hasn't been used so I thought I'd place it here.
Children flocked from all over Oxfordshire and beyond, on 14-15th July, to the Abingdon Airfield to be a part of the world’s first children’s food festival.
It’s not every day you see a sleeping pig or get to see culinary delights created by top chefs such as Raymond Blanc, in front of your very eyes and that was just for starters at the world’s first children’s food festival.
For main course there were workshops enabling children to get right to the centre of creating the basics of a good meal from pasta to meatballs and chapattis to butter.
While the icing on the cake or sweet if preferred, was allowing those taste buds to run riot on all different types of food and drink from all over the world including British, French, Italian and Indian.
Finally, it was nice to see so much literature being at hand allowing people to go away with an enjoyment of cooking and cook healthily, safely, add new recipes to their collection and be better informed of where food comes from.
Happy cooking everybody

Interesting idea. Did it include a part where you could see the food being prepared from start to finish - meaning from cow to grill?

It's a good idea. With all the factory processing, most kids have no clue where their food comes from, or how it's made.
Key: Complain about this post
