h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Most of you will know that I've had quite some problems with my teeth lately (yes, again).
The treatment was hell, but is nearing completion, so I felt actually well as long as I didn't think of the bill.

Yesterday, we went to a 'Kelterfest' not far from here.
It's where ripe, harvested apples are first shredded and then pressed.
The resulting juice is called 'Süßer' (sweet), or 'Most' (must).

If the must is left to its own devices, it starts to ferment and turns into apple wine (as described here: A427196).

It was a warm, sunny afternoon which we spent with friends and family, and it was lovely.

I came back home in the late afternoon, calling a bottle of apple/quince prosecco my own (my friends and I had tasted our way through the whole range of apple proseccos , and this one was what I thought tasted best).

Today started well enough, with my dentisit appointment not being too lengthy or painful, and a great chat with a friend.

And then suddenly my bladder played up. For once it happened during the opening hours of my , and now I'm on antibiotics.

I cancelled tomorrow's dentist appointment, I don't think I could sit through it.

I took a painkiller, and it seems to help.

Was it all the acid in the apples?

I only had one glass of juice and one (small) glass of prosecco, so I don't think that was the reason. I guess that with all the teeth trouble (extractions, surgery etc) I've recently gone through my immune system was weak.

The Apfelwein, is it the one which is served in a Bembel?

Yes, that's the one.

It's been a while since we shared a Bembel in a Apfelweinkneipe, though. One of our friends brought home-made Apfelwein, which is in a plastic cannister.

However, I've learnt that at times it is actually OK to take a painkiller.

Seems I was lucky (or the painkiller worked), because I'm currently not feeling too bad. I may even be fit to go to work tomorrow.

If you make it to wo*k..don't push yourself too hard!!!
