Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band Day

Post 1

Don't know about you (maybe I'm just weird), but I got up this morning and one of their songs popped up in my head - for no apparent reason.

So I decided it was time to listen to the songs again, whilst reading the latest <./>ThePost</.> and rereading the mighty fine guide entries we have about the band:

A13664388

and

A3647630

So now, I'm sittting here, humming along. smiley - biggrin

Don't know, but their songs always cheer me up (not that I needed to be cheered up today, mind).

How about you, are there any bands/songs which have this effect on you?
Do you have Bonzo Dog days?

(What music I listen to is always down to my current mood).

1960s? I couldn't agree more, Prof.

When you think about what we had at the end of the decade (Hendrix, Led Zeppelin) compared to the beginning (Joe Loss Orchestra? smiley - laugh), you can see how that was when it was all happened. And then there's the Beatles, Stones, Elvis, all the hippy bands - amazing decade. Just wish I'd been born 10 years earlier so I could have enjoyed it more.

You can still enjoy it - just won't see them on stage. smiley - biggrin

Thanks for the links, prof and Chris. I knew the first clip (Urban Spacemna), but had never seen the other one before. Nice one!

In my first year at uni, they played a gig there. Seen once, never forgotten.

As to thinking about them first thing in the morning - 'The Strain' is ever in the back of the mind during morning ablutions!!

This is a very frustrating thread for those of us whose employers have blocked Youtube! Anyone care to post the song titles I'm missing? smiley - laugh

Re ICY's earlier post - of all the things that I am grateful for in life, way up at the top of the list has to be spending my teenage years in the 60's. It was a truly amazing time to be growing up.

And the great thing is that - if you did - you didn't!

(grow up!!)

I love that here at work facebook is banned permanently, b3ta for being tasteless (though I've found a proxy), and ebay etc for shopping. Yet youtube is fine smiley - smiley

I don't think any sites are blocked from work, but I seldom dare having a quick glance (or even post) here from work, let alone watch youtube clips. smiley - laugh

Malabarista - now with added pony

Hmmm, now I'll know what to listen to while I colour my next comics page... smiley - biggrin Good idea, thanks, Bel!

I don't have one favourite artist/music style/era - but it comes and goes in cycles. My last project for Uni was fuelled almost entirely by Louis Armstrong, while the one before that was Cat Stevens. smiley - laugh

I don't have a favourite artist/band, either. It really is mood-related what I listen to (if at all).

Bel,

Brilliant stuff. Agree with everything said previously, except my tastes also go back much further! smiley - senior Like you much of it is mood related too.

Gotta smiley - run Not at work and no 'boss' to monitor me, just an over developed conscience - I shall enjoy the clips again this afternoon smiley - biggrin
