You all know that I was in charge for a smooth uploading of <./>ThePost</.> today. When my PC started to be funny last week, I did everything as early as possible to be prepared for the 'worst case scenario' of possibly not being able to do the uploading myself. Well, I was lucky, because my son let me have his PC, so all was fine.
I started the uploading very early this morning, to suddenly find that I hadn't sent in an edited copy of GB's astronomy column. smiley - yikes
OK, I didn't panic right away, because I was sure the original was in a folder in the Post account. I went to look - couldn't find it. Checked the trash - somebody had emptied it. That was the moment when panic set in. Just imagine: a link from the <./>FrontPage</.> leading to an empty page. smiley - yikes Now that would have been very embarrasing. smiley - blush
I had just started to write an urgent email to GB, asking her for a copy of her article, when my brain started to work again. I remembered that I had replied to her submission (as we do), and checked the 'sent' folder now, and there it was. smiley - puff It was even in the folder I had checked first, but my view must have been clouded on first looking. Fortunately for me, Gb always sends it fully guide-ml-ed, there's just the date and a couple of links to insert. So panic over and no email sent to GB. smiley - smiley

Next thing I discovered was that I hadn't prepared the Cartoons themselves. I had set up the A spaces, and done the archiving, but not done them as edited copies. OK, checking for the guide ml on the last cartoon, then discovered the next error: I had put the wrong titles on the Post FP, the last one was 158, and I had gone on with 161. smiley - groan
So, back into the Post email account to search for the correct titles. Editing of the FP, editing of the Cartoon submissions, and eventually finished it all. smiley - somersault

Got an email from GB, applauding me on my work, and telling me that for some reason, her column had the old blob. smiley - blush

In my hurry to get her entry done again*, I had taken the template I have saved in my google docs and just inserted her new article, not realising, not even when publishing it, that my template still had the old blob. smiley - senior

I really hope that was all what went wrong, but in case you discover anything, please let me know. smiley - ta

*Again, because I'm sure there is a draft on *my* PC which I just forgot to send.

Bel, we couldn't have asked for a more efficient Editor, with prompt 'after sales service' too smiley - rofl

The next deadline is rolling round too fast - time flies when you are having fun.

Go and have a nice and a good rest. As for your personal problems, I am sure they will resolve themselves in time. I have two sons, and the last years they were at home were quite often very fraught but we are the best of friends now.

Thank you, Webbie. smiley - hug

My son intends to move out, and, sad as it is, I'm not going to stop him. I hope he'll get the 'job' (a voluntary social year) he has applied for, then share a flat with his friend come August.
