I have blisters

Post 1

We have lovely weather here, sunshine and temperatures like in summer, so I agreed to go for a walk through the fields with my friends. smiley - run
Put on my sandals and no socks, after all, it was very warm, and I've had these sandals for three or four years now and never had any problems. Wore them in London last year, and everybody knows just how much walking a visit to London usually involves. smiley - puff
Well, after a bit more than a mile, I felt the blisters building up. smiley - injured After the second mile, I took the sandals off and walked back the two miles on a stony, though tarred path with bare feet. It was still better than wearing the sandals.
Arrived at home, washed my feet and discovered two HUGE blisters on each sole. smiley - wah
So now, I can't walk but only hobble on very sore feet.
Trouble is, my bicycle is broken and I didn't manage to buy the things I need to fix it today, I guess I'll have to go to a bike shop for that. smiley - groan

I wanted to take a needle and puncture them, but husband told me not to, because of the risk of an infection. smiley - rolleyes I think it would be a relief to have them dry out. It's just that the largest vone doesn't actually look is if it's filled with water smiley - wah

Can't you send me a spare pair of feet? Size 38 would be great, oh, and slim, or else they won't fit in my shoes.

Size 38! smiley - yikes
And I thought my feet were big! (size 11)
smiley - winkeye Gotta love them European sizes.

When I was a teenager I ran one afternoon from where our boat was docked in a marina to the marina's pool (about 1/4 mile) barefoot on hot pavement (never do this - it's very stupid). I had blisters on both feet on the soft part between the pad of my foot and my toes.

Hope your feet are better soon, Bel!

Believe me, broelan, so do I.
US size 11 is which UK size? I thought 38 was about UK size 6?

I just looked it up and you're right: size 5 in the UK, size 6.5 in the USA, apparently:

The first plaster just remioved itself. Why is it that plaster sticks like hell if you want to remove it, and not at all when you need it to stick? smiley - grr

pheloxi | is it time to wear a hat? |

good lesson for next time
...wear socks the first few weeks when change from winter shoes to sandals. your skin is softer when wear winter shoes. it needs adjust.

personal experience: summer holidays, first sandal without sock, than with socks and no sandals and no socks, because I was walking in dunes and beach.
