Poor B´Elana smiley - hug

Leave the blisters intact for a few days, and hopefully they´ll dry up. I might be good to cover them with "blister pads".

Send some of your menfolk to get you some blister pads. They can be the diffrence between walking and not walking.

It's Sunday, no shops are open.

Experience tells me that blisters have to be left alone. Its a pig if you have to be on your feet all day, though.

And never ever walk anywhere for more than about 10 minutes without socks. (Birkenstocks, for some reason, seem exempt from this)

But that's it, Sho, I've walked in those sandals without socks every year now, and nothing happened.

well that is plain weird I have to admit. But it has happened to me too, and I think that it has more to do with where you walk than your feet and/or the sandles.

I'm currently (and this is revolting, btw) suffering from a major attack of verrucas (sp?) on my left foot. They're not just on the sole (which would be pretty easy to treat with the verrucca zapping stuff I have) but on the top (on a rather nasty bunion to make things worse)

Which means my feet are currently either covered in plasters, or bare to the world and making me smiley - ill every time I catch sight of them (but the skin needs to dry out)

And I have no idea why I just told you that, other than to let you know you're not the only one suffering with foot problems

Really sorry to hear that, Sho. smiley - hug
Sounds as if you're worse off than me, because yours will take much longer to mend. Have you tried Thuja?

What's that?
the BBC webbie just told me to try tea-tree oil. (and from the chemist I have Wartner which is flippin' expensive but freezes them off)

Wartner is great stuff, I bought that for my boys years ago. Thuja is homeopathic.

As I have an allergic reaction to Verrucca treatments, to the point of blood-poisoning, my chiropodist has told me to use the tried and tested treatment of applying banana skins to them, sealed with a large plaster and change regularly. Worked wonders for me. Need to start again with the one on my right foot. Btw, should you be walking in bare feet, as I understood it spread the spores. Caught mine from Mum, when she lived with me 5 years ago!

smiley - goodluck both of you!

not walking around in bare feet (I've been sewing and there are usually pins lying around) but when I'm not walking, I have my feet up and airing.

I have applied Wartner to the ones on the soles and one of the bigger warts on the top of my foot. The others I'm treating with this weird plaster thing (a bit like a corn plaster) which you have to have on for 2 days, then get rid of the dead skin smiley - ill and then repeat until you have a hole in your foot, apparently.

Ho hum

It's better than what the school doctor did to the girls when they had verrucas: he dug them out. One was on crutches for weeks.

I remember that treatment, Sho.
I felt I was doing a Tom impersonation, out of Tom and Jerry, clinging to the ceiling by my fingernails.

My smiley - doctor was ex-army! smiley - yikes and a sadist!

No bedside manner at all!

And as she wielded the scalpel, she'd say 'This won't hurt a bit!'

smiley - wah

And I had to go back four times to complete the treatment. No anasthetic either.

Cutting out verrucas is no good smiley - doctorsmiley - dragon What seems to work best is to freeze them with liquid nitrogen.

yes, freezing is the best treatment.

But back in the 70s/80s when I was at school - digging them out (no anasthetic) was the treatment. I've always been grateful I never got one at school.

I'm glad I have only blisters smiley - biggrin
They do hurt, though, and walking is a bit like 'walking on raw eggs' - don't know if you have this expression in English.
