Mikey the Humming Mouse - A3938628 Learn More About the Edited Guide!

Hi there, Normal!

Have you had a chance yet to take a gander at the Writing-Guidelines for Peer Review and the Edited Guide? They might give you a better idea of the type of entry people usually submit here. Not that your poem about your sock isn't fun and all, but it just doesn't quite fit on this foot. smiley - winkeye

If you want to take a look at some Edited Guide entries people have written and gotten through the system, here are few worth a gander:

A583300 - The Joy of Socks
A697575 - Alternative Uses for Socks
A995682 - Holy Socks - an Ontological Dichotomy

If poetry is really more your thing, you're probably better off in the Alternative Writing Workshop -- you can find that here -- Writing-Alternative

That's a place where you can submit poems like this and get some froody feedback on it.

Hmm, the author hasn't posted in a week. I hope he comes back...

When you get back Normal, could you click this link to remove this from PR?

No problem, I'll have another skim and see if there's anything that needs seconding whilst I'm here.

Hmm... it's still here.

To be honest I can't remember if I saw an e-mail passing through the Scouts group about this move. If there was one, yet the entry is still here it kind of suggests that the italics missed it.

I'll do another.

I think this entry is ready for the EG.

No dave it really *isn't* ready for the Edited Guide. Have you actually read the Writing-Guidelines? If you had you'd see why.

of course I've read the guidelines! I respectfully disagree though, and think that this entry is practically EG ready.

Zarquon's Singing Fish!

The EG is not for poems. It could be great for <./>ThePost</.>, though!

can I submit it to the post?

The author usually submits it to the post Dave.

So in theory I could submit it to the post?

A1067023 - sock

Post 19

J

You could submit it, but

1- There isn't an edition this week
2- There is a queue for poetry
3- There's no promise it will get in.
4- It's bad form to submit another person's poetry to smiley - thepost

I think, anyway.

As per my post for SOCK, it follows on in the fine tradition of the guide. EARTH: Mostly Harmless.
SOCK: Mostly Smelly.
