Volunteers please help with berthing arrangements

Post 1

Carol - New Zealand

Kia ora (hello in Maori)

To reduce John's workload we need to help arrange berthing in the ports of call during the voyage.

To help the voyage it would be great if we can get free berthing for the boat - a little bit of sweet talking involved!

In New Zealand I am arranging berthing for English Rose VI in Wellington, Dunedin and the Chatham Islands. If we have to detour because of weather, or changes to the schedule, I will also organise back-up berthing in Auckland and the Marlborough Sounds.

I'm working with the city authority in Wellington to arrange a high-profile berth and it looks likely that it will be free.

When i join the voyage in Melbourne I will take a courtesy flag with me (this is a small New Zealand flag for English Rose VI). All the volunteers should be able to help with this.

When you make arrangements be sure to communicate this with John. He will need a map of the harbour and how to get to the berth.

If you're not sure who can help with berthing, perhaps a local yacht club can help?
