Hello my dear! How are you today?
Welcome to the wild world of the online "Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy". Otherwise known as "h2g2"! I hope you enjoy it here, and I look forward to you joining in our new "h2g2" adventures.
What can you do first? Well, if you visit each of our personal pages while "logged in" (which you can do by clicking on our names while in these forums), you will see a button that says "Add to friends" in the upper right hand corner of each persons page. Notice the area at the bottom of your own area, that says 'Friends'? You can add each of our names to that list, and it makes it easier to keep track of each other that way. For instance, I'm going to add you to my "Friends list" right now.
I've taken the plunge and written a "guide entry" too - Which is something you might also feel like doing once you feel more comfortable. But please, take your time. There's plenty of it, you know.
Take care,
Sir Lance (otherwise known as "Ecnal")

Sir Lance! Delighted to see you.
I trust you are enjoying good health?
Hmmm, 'Ecnal Silyab'... I seem to remember you using that name back in my Green Cat Contest. Oh, that was great fun.
Anyway, it's just lovely to see you. I look forward to possibly getting some more computer time in the near future, and perhaps writing on some Lord Mike stories. I'm sure I'll get used to h2g2 soon; I'm already feeling more comfotable with it than I did a few days ago. And thanks so much for welcoming me so kindly. It's wonderful to hear that someone is glad to see you once in a while.
