Hastings Jack in the Green
Firestarter Started conversation Jun 22, 2003
Further to the piece from Molyneux, it is worth remembering that whilst JITG is a unique event in the calender, the Hastings Bonfire, at the end of Hastings Week is not to be missed. This event shares many of the same contributors, not least the irrepressible Rumpledrumskin, featuring the rythmn warriors and that well known Trickster, Matt. Matt is usually dressed in the same fashion as at JITG, and the fire shows up better at night. (The original article did not mention the exhilarating fire performances, as they happen prior to the procession arriving at George Street.)
"Not to be missed" -Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy Volume 333
"A wild and crazy night" -East Sussex Fire Service
"Matt is fantastic, the sexiest man to visit Hastings" - Sue Lucas, Hastings Borough Bonfire Society

Let me be clear on this. You are not JUST a spectator. Without people to watch us do these things, these Things would not be worth doing. Whilst I enjoy racing around for two hours or so, sweating my ar*e off and risking my skin with flammable liquid and naked flames, I don't do it in my back garden. So spectators are very important.
In answer to your question, Yes I am Matt. Have we ever spoken? Do you know me by reputation, or only because I gave it away with the reply to Molyneux.

We've spoken briefly a couple of times, I tend to wear a black leather hat, if that helps. Oh, and I'm a young woman with long hair. I often forget around here to add details like that
And you are right- such events and parades would be a bit pathetic without people to watch, shout, clap and join in.
On another note, if you type something in your personal space, then an ACE can come along and tell you all about h2g2...

What the hell is an ACE? I am brand new to this game so don't know anything.
When have we spoken briefly? Was it at Jack or Bonfire. Were they philosophical dicussions or was I being a tart?

Was this a reply to me or Timelord? As ststed before, I am a lumpy (new boy) at this game, so may need some babysitting.

Miss Kerr-Avon,
I am still trying to identify you in my mind. Can you give me anymore information that may help?
Were you at Jack this year? Did you see me with my baby son? He was dressed in an identical outfit so would have been difficult to mistake.
Are you going to Bonfire?

Once you have post a message that message comes up in your conversations when someone replys it will move to the top of your conversations list unless you don't want to stay in that conversation then you can unsubscribe.
E.G. If you and Avon were to keep this thread going i might not want to stay in the conversation and so would unsubscribe.

You probably wouldn't remember me- we only chatted for a minute or so. No, I didn't see your son. What's the date for this year's bonfire, sounds like a good idea. Oh, and here's your

Hastings Bonfire is on the 18th October. I will be there, but not necessarily as part of Rumpledrumskin. If you see me, and it is umlikely that you won't, come and identify yourself.
