Attack of the Clones

We saw Attack of the Clones today. And I loved it completely. By far the best time I've had in a cinema for a long, long time. For a more in-depth review (which contains a lot of spoilers, so don't read it if you haven't seen the film) see A752203.
I've read some online reviews saying people thought it was the worst film they'd ever seen. I think such people are wrong, obviously, but also misguided. Even if you don't like the dialogue, or think it's all soulless special effects, you have to admire the skill behind it at least. I've seen Johnny Mnemonic, so I know what a bad movie is. These people just want to pose, take the 'cool' option rather than surrender to the sheer joy of a movie which only wants to entertain.
I pity them. Treat yourself, and see this film.

Seconded.
the only comlaint I've heard after coming out of the cinema was..."it was alright but not what it was hyped to be."
Oh I don't know It surpassed my expectations a number of times (and such is the nature of hype so I am led to believe).
Jar-jar in a reduced role is still rubbish but
my god! Yoda kicks bottom.
we are not worthy, we are not worthy.

And in actual fact, I felt the hype was actually less than for The Phantom Menace. I certainly had reduced expectations for this one (which might explain my extremely positive reaction).

I was almost surprised to find it was being released - such was the little amount hype that preceded it, one feels George and co. learnt a lesson from over-hyping with TPM

I got intensely irritated by the BBC worldservice reviewer who seemed to be painting the film in a negative light in order to reflect glory on himself.
I really enjoyed this, even though no one could possibly accuse me of being a starwars fanatic, or probably even fan.

There seems to be an obsession to denigrate this one, regardless of the fact that it is, actually, a fabulously entertaining piece of cinema.

I was more disappointed in the cinema than in the film! That Odeon has uncomfortable seats - on the body and on the eyes - and we were sitting so far back (in a half empty cinema) that the screen looked no bigger than my local UCI.
