I'm in France now, and as such have almost no internet access, so I won't be around much for a bit.

I would offer the French equivalent of 'auf wiederhoren' but there doesn't seem to be one

Hope you're able to appreciate the local cuisine (fresh bread daily, charcuterie and so forth) - I have a friend who did an exchange year as part of her French degree and had some difficulty when she explained to her hosts that she was a vegetarian - they said "No problem, we don't eat much meat either", they couldn't comprehend eschewing meat entirely.
