Hello, everyone, whoever's left. I'm another one that allows RL to get in the way too often. Coffee for me, please. Just in from work, and must get some food in my body before I add anything stronger. But the sun is definitely over the yardarm! Every day when I get home, I announce that I'm going to check on my real life (online), my days are a figment of my over-active imagination. Its turned cold in Winnipeg. I had to get the hated winter jacket out this week. Where the heck is Indian Summer?!
Wasn't that an awful mess in Halifax? Do we have any members from Nova Scotia?

Hey there BB
coming rite up..
I love your theory on RL.. i'll have to remember that
It sounded bad in Halifax..hopefully our members in the area are all well and were well guarded when it all came threw. I'll throw on some more and get some blankets incase anyone wants to come in out of the storms hitting everywhere lol.
I just moved from Sudbury about 2 wks ago now and i just got the funniest news.. its SNOWING there!!!! I got out of there just in time..
But its cold here and it hasnt stopped raining and hailing so i guess i shouldnt laugh to hard we may not be far off. It sure is cold enough to snow.

I should have complained sooner! Its warmed up and is going to be an incredible weekend in Winnipeg - sunny and warm - right through to Monday. After I get the housework and grocery shopping done tomorrow, I'm going to get out and enjoy it! It'll be short-lived, no doubt, but its always so lovely with all the trees turning yellow. There are 2 red squirrels in a Japanese garden outside the building where I work and they're going a hundred miles an hour getting ready for winter. I must remember some peanuts for them when I shop tomorrow.

Im glad you complained..lol.. it warmed up here too,it didnt feel so much like snow was coming today!!
I got things done as fast as i could today just to be able to see the sun its been so long since it was really out and warm here, nothing but rain since i moved here.
soon enough it is going to be that time again where blankets of snow cover everything and all the animals are hidden from our sight staying warm for the season.
How many days until winters over?lol I'm already wishing i could sleep threw it and it hasnt started.

Now I know for certain that this is the Canadian researchers forum. It is an immutable rule of the universe that when two Canadians meet, the first thing they talk about is the weather and usually how cold or snowy it is. LOL

That's so true! And it isn't as if we have nothing else to complain about! The area of Winnipeg where I live is really well treed, and its a golden storm today. Enough wind to blow the leaves off the trees and swirl them around on the ground. I go out just at sunrise these days, and Osborne Village is just a wonderland in that morning light. If I wasn't heading for WORK (that 4-letter word!) it would be wonderful to be out.

Hello, Unforseen, welcome. And Happy New Year. Come in and enjoy - we talk about other stuff besides the weather! We're gathering quite a group of Canadians - the more the merrier.

Heyy! I've been to Peterborough! (I live in Toronto) I visited some friends at Trent in October. It seems like a nice city. Tiny Zoo, though, I must say.

Yeah the zoo in peterborough is small... Still for a city our size it's nice to have one.

The Petroglyphs are prety cool, though. Mind you, I haven't seen them since 1977. Since then they put up the fence and aviewing area. They were planning to put up a museum over them. Did they do that?
It's just as well because all that tramping over them and the graffitti was ruining them. It is just a shame that it couldn't be left as it was over the millenia. I wish I could find the photos I took back then.

Unfortunately, the Ontario Parks site for the park is cr@p and doesn't have even one photo of the carvings.
