AaaaaCHOO! Sorry. The funny thing... AaaaaCHOO!... about hay fever is... AaaaaCHOO!... that it isn't caused by hay... AaaaaCHOO!... and it doesn't give you a fever. AaaaaCHOO! Not in my experience, anyway. AaaaaCHOO! Is it true that the pollen count was about 900 in Scarborough yesterday? AaaaaCHOO!

Yes, so I heard. Normally they reckon a count of around 150-200 is high.So this would explain why I've been virtually comatonse these past few days.

What's going on there? Has Saddam Hussein spent the last eight years working on a pollen bomb, and dropped it on Scarborough?

It's been pretty bad down this end of the country too. I want to scratch my own eyes out they are so itchy!

Does anybody know what happens if you take an overdose of antihistamine tablets? The packaging demands that you shouldn't exceed the stated dose, which is one every 24 hours, but I took one 90 minutes ago and I'm now sneezing, itching and sniffing like someone allergic to their own skin. If I took another one, would I die from lack of histamines?

Not a pharmacist and don't take antihistamines so I'm sorry I don't know. I find homeopathic remedies work much better and are pretty benign so you can take them whenever you need!

Hm, that isn't my experience. I've tried bloody everything and nothing seems to work except extremely strong prescription steroid-based nasal sprays.

Strangely enough, I don't feel so bad now. The tablets seem to take about 3 hours to kick in. Maybe I should get up in the middle of the night to take them, so they'll be working by the time I get up for real...

Have you tried eating locally produced honey? It doesn't work.
Going on holiday abroad somewhere hot but not too "green" helps too. You should stop sneezing after a couple of days at the most, and when you get home you'll not be sneezing as much.
I use Semprex anti-histamines and try to stay indoors as much as possible.
Just one thing that annoys me. When I'm in the middle of a sneezing fit, usually at somebody else's barbecue, I hate it when people keep asking "are you alright" before trying to start a long conversation with me. I don't want a long conversation. I just want some more tissues and to be left to sneeze and blow my nose in peace.

Semtex anti-histamines? That's a bit drastic, isn't it? They'll take your head off!
Oh... SemPREX? Apologies.
