I know I have asked this before but I have lost my notes. Please will you tell me how to index text using the following: bullets, dashes, a)/a., or numbers. Thank you.

The types of list supported by GuideML are Unordered Lists and Ordered Lists each of which has LInes .
bullet point
another bullet point
default number 1
default number 2
If you don't want normal numbers you can set the TYPE as: A for capital letters, a for lower case ones, I for capital roman numerals and i for lower case ones.
this will be i
this will be ii
You can also nest lists and should be able to change the display type on the fly (by putting the TYPE attribute in the LI tag) but I'm not sure why anyone would want to do that last trick.

PS you can also skip numbers (by setting VALUE="9" or whatever) but again, apart from starting at 0, I'm not sure why anyone would want to do it. I also forgot to mention that you can force the default type of arabic numerals with TYPE="1" in case the style sheet is set to something else. In theory you can choose the TYPE of an Unordered List too - circle, square or disc.
