Look at it this way. Every single molecule of carbon has to have a infintesimal change in drection. Therefore, the lengths between the moleculescan be counted as sides. However, because there are no 'definative' corners, and therefore, no ending point, so the counting of these sides can go on forever of into infinity, no matter whether the circle is perfect or not.
