I happen to love curry and I like cooking them too.
I only cook with the proper ingredients -no Uncle Bens or Homepride
sauces.
I like to grind the spices together and toast them first-it smells
wonderful.
Anybody got any good recipes for me to try?

I don't really use recipes much, but I agree with what you say about ingredients. (Although curry *pastes* such as Patak sell are OK & useful when you're in a hurry for a curry.) You are SO right about toasting the spices... YUM!
A nice variation is the sort of patia-type: I cook veggie curries, so I don't need to worry about browning meat, etc, so you need to take that into account. Spices prepared as usual, chillies to taste (I use 4-5 depending on size/strength), but use tomatoes for the base instead of onion. Towards the end of cooking add some good chutney - mango is the obvious one, but it is easy to get others.
Served, of course, on basmati rice with roti of some sort.
