My geography lecturer read out a quote from hitch hikers today! I was dead impressed. He did admit that he hadn't actually read the book, but I think I'll let him off for managing to make the fact that the answer to life, the universe and everything is 42 connect to geography in some way! I think his point was that you need to know what the question is in order to use statistics or something.... but to be honest I wasn't paying masses of attention at that point because I was too busy smiley - wowing that he'd put a quote from my favourite book into his lecture!!

smiley - silly

The university set up its own discussion board so I can post to my lecturers all I want (that is if I wanted too) smiley - winkeye.

Otherwise the odd hitchhiker joke in lectures is fine by me. smiley - biggrin

hee hee hee, lecturer on my back...ahem, sorry, nothing! What?
Hey. Been listening to Van Halen.
Once had a geometry teacher, back in the day, who used to always use the guide in examples. When we were moving shapes around and changing their size and scale, he read to us about the battle fleet that declared war on earth because of a careless remark by Arthur Dent, but misjudged the scale and were swallowed by a small dog. ...come to think of it, that was what got me to read the guide in the first place. Huh. Well, Mr. Petoff, wherever you are, thankyou.

I read it because I didn't have a clue what books to read, so I decided to randomly select a book by an auther of each letter of the alphabet until I found one I liked. I stopped on A. smiley - winkeye
