Hooray! Yesterday we finally got a moving in date on the house we're buying!
We had an offer accepted in August, and the current owner has dragged her heels for five months, but it's finally done and dusted!
Or not. Because not 24 hours later, she's pulled out entirely, meaning we've wasted no end of time, money and effort.
Not sure if there's a word for how angry I am...

Because the housing market is *sooooo* good at the moment she'll easily find another buyer???
WHY!!!
I could understand if houses were going up in value very fast and she might get more.

I wouldn't understand then - a deal is a deal - but I'm old-fashioned.
I'd suggest the old filled paper bag set on fire on her doorstep.

Sorry to hear that - that sounds maddening.
There needs to be a change in the law on this, or a move to something like the Scottish system. Accepting an offer should mean accepting an offer....

Thankfully, while I've been whining on h2g2, wheels have been turning. L's a machine. She's already found two great-looking houses and is in the process of arranging a viewing.
Remind me never to agree to a temporary split. She's a rebound expert.
