Quite a Depressing Day for Jodan, h2g2-wise.

Today, two things happened to me in PR. My Alexander Hamilton entry was picked, which is fantastic, I guess... I really liked that entry. More than anything I've ever written for the site, I put my heart into it. The disappointing part is that it went out of PR with only three reviewers.
12 hours ago, I put a little piece of crap entry into PR on Third Nipples that anyone could have written, really, and probably could have written better. By my count, it's already gotten 13 reviewers and 68 total postings. I hate to complain about receiving attention in PR, but the comparisons really quite bothered me.
That's all...

Could it be that the average bozo thinks that third nipples are more interesting?

Cheer up. The explanation is probably that the regulars at Peer Review don't know anything about Hamilton and so can't make intelligent comments. Plus it is very well done, so there isn't anything for them to criticize. And they are more likely to comment with suggestions for changes than to say great job. Especially since you are so prolific.

No, don't cheer him up. He thrives on depression.
The REALLY depressing aspect is that the Nipples thing, which was clearly just a piece of cheerful nonsense, was treated with wholly inappropriate seriousness.
I think that people with no sense of fun should be taken out and shot

I know the feeling. The more I work on an entry, the more it gets ignored in PR and on the front page.
Then I write a trivial entry (The 'South African' song entry, for example) and it sparks pages of debate, and lots of comments.
There ain't no justice in this world.

tell me about it, I wrote a shody attempt at 'womens in Islam' and it got loads of attention and comments, then I went out for several months researching the subject more indepth and re-vamped the whole piece and gave it a better title of 'Islam and womem, veiled oppression or stigmatized misconception' and it goes largy ignored.

I think....that Hyp is right. I knew nothing about Hamilton and, I'm not that ashamed to say, I don't partiularly want to. However if I had known that you had so few reviewers then I would have cheerfully gone and investigated. Sorry about that.
Every entry in PR has to be treated seriously otherwise upsets can occur Besides...don't you want to be known as the guy who wrote about third nipples, rather than the guy who is still writing entries about famous Americans...
Also, because it's the summer, many PR-regulars don't have as much time as usual so they are literally *just* looking at entries they find interesting or amusing. As you know, we've also had a *lot* of backlog in PR and it's been getting a bit scary to venture anywhere except the first page of listings. However this will hopefully be resolved soon and we an go and review evry single entry still in there!! Hopefully...
Apologies to anyone who has submitted a 'serious' entry to PR and has not had any comment. Please bump it up the list by posting to your PR thread and maybe people will notice...or at least I'll try.

Kat, the AH entry wasn't just serious, I think. I tried to make it as interesting as possible. For instance, did you know that Alexander Hamilton gave you Britons a big ass-kicking at Yorktown?
Anyway, I'm tired of this nipple nonsense. If they try to make me put more medical crap in it, they can write their own entry without the benefit of first hand third nipple knowledge

Just a thought...
Perhaps you're on the verge of a one-off opportunity.
You could make sure your 99th EG Entry left PR clear of any pending ones.
You could then post a special one to express what you believe the EG could be.
If you were to decide to challenge, it would draw power from your strong heart.
If you were to decide to placate, it would be the consummate gesture of friendship and community.
Either way, it would stand out forever.
And it could be about anything at all.
If it was in the spirit of Hamilton, there wouldn't be silence this time.
If it was a new kind of nipple-nonsense, nobody would dare be sensible.
Whatever it was, you see, everyone would know what it meant.
Nobody else's mission, just your own.
Like I said, just a thought.

Jodan. The most responses I got in PR was for my entry on Syphilis - people like commenting on Inneuendo... and your Alexander Hamilton entry was excellent..
That's why I picked it.

On a bright note, your nipple entry was the only thing to tepmt me down PR way since last year, and that's only because I didn't take it seriously but rather looked upon it as a fine bit of sport

So that's how to get new people into PR...
Well you've sold it to me, I'll make a point of reading about Alexander Hamilton now when it Front Pages.
