I don't know how many of y'all care, but the state of Ohio has been a political... whatsit for a while now. Our Senate race next year is going to be something to marvel at. Paul Hackett, the straight-talking Democrat who almost won the deeply Republican Ohio 2nd Congressional district this year has thrown his hat in for the Dem nomination. Now it seems that Democratic Congressman Sherrod Brown, a truly great progressive (who initially said he wouldn't run), also has. They're both vying for the priviledge of dethroning the odious Mike DeWine.
Now, normally, I'd prefer Brown, but I just read this from a forum that Paul Hackett was posting in last night-
"it is 6:30 in Cincinnati
I bought the new Bob Dylan DVD No Direction Home and I'm looking forward to watching it with my wife.
Hackett out."
Who wouldn't want a Senator like that?
out.

Too bad it isn't that slime V*inovitch. DeWine might be odious, but he's at least humanoid.

Meh. I reckon that whoever doesn't win the Dem primary this time around will come back and take on Voinovich in 2010. And we'll finally have a credible Democratic Senatorial campaign here in Ohio.
What was the last guy's name? Fingerhut, right?
Funny name. That's the only reason I remember him.

The what now?
Didn't read up on Mr Fingerhut much last year. All I know is that Voinovich creamed him.

Yeah, which is really too bad. He lost points on experience.

There is a mail order firm names Fingerhut. They send out catalogs around Christmas. Everything is overpriced so much that I have no idea how they stay in business. They have gthe same items you can get almost anyplace - nothing unique at all - for more money plus you have to pay shipping. Amazing that they ever sell anything.

Ooh, maybe it's a laundering scheme to support Ohio Democrats
Hyp, as your VP I advise you to buy a plethora of overpriced useless trinkets and non-unique items from those folks come Christmastime

If it's a laundering scheme, they need to get some better soap or something because it doesn't seem to be working...

Jodan, as you Prez I suggest you form a committee to study the question and report back to me.

Still dictating the UG along Well, actually not as much anymore. Good old Waz does more work than me, but I still get to do some of the fun stuff like arguing with the italics.
