Jack the Cat and I am currently watching impressing flashes and listening to loud thunder while the sky literally is open and the rain pours down. This must be the most impressing tropical thunderstorm I've experienced - not that I have so very many to compare with.

Unfortunately tropical rain doesn't mean any cooling down, so it's as hot and humid as it was before. I've showered and changed clothes twice already today, and I guess I'll have to do it once more before hitting the sack.

Golden Fire smiley - dragons don't mix well with this climate, we need the Northern Cold Winds.

I'm not a big fan of hot and humid, either. It's been a bit of that here lately, but surely not as much as in China. I hope you don't melt!

It's been warm and humid since last night. For the first time I have been too hot to sleep, usually I am too cold. We have had thunder and lightening over a week ago but it was not as bad as what you have experienced in China.

The AC in the room where I'm currently sleeping is out of order, so all I have available for cooling is a noisy fan. It makes the heat a little more easy to stand, but is by no means sufficient.

Tomorrow we're off for Chengdu, a couple of hours by flight westwards. It's said to be just like 24C over there...

Like DQ, I have trouble coping with anything more than the mid-twenties and prefer a cooler climate.

24C sounds very pleasant smiley - smiley
Have a great time in Chengdu.

We've had temps in the high 30s for most of the last week here in BJ, which hasn't made sightseeing with #2 very easy.
There's been a good breeze in the evenings - but it's felt like standing in front of a hairdrier. The silver lining to that cloud is that washing dries in about half an hour.

We're in Xi'an now, and it's like 35-37C... not too good for a Golden Fire Dragon of the Icy North.

Presently having my far most expensive meal since my arrival, like 4€, just to be able to check out the infernalic web.

Since my last visit here, I've been Panda spotting, Buddha climbing, pagoda watching and smiley - drool over Terracotta Warriors. See http://dqontheroad.wordpress.com for details.

or at least I hope so, since I'm not been able to even read my travel blog for about a week. I mail the postings when ever I'm connected to the web and can find a hole through GFW. Seems a the holes are getting narrower the closer to Beijing you get.

Tonight we're off to Beijing, so I'll be Wall climbing in a couple of days.

Well, let's see if I can submit this... previewing is out of the question...
