Moscow, Idaho to be precise is where I find myself these days, though I may be at the garlic meet as well...

I thought you were moving in May? Or have other plans changed that?

It may be difficult for us to see you then Nyssabird. We are not likely to be going to the Gilroy festival for a variety of reasons. And Idaho is pretty much off our itinerary.
Can you catch up with us anywhere else?

Right then, I'll up the ante with barbequed salmon and bannock bread!
Lovely time of the year here, you know! Might make a nice honeymoon for you two.

Oh, oh! My daughter's been to the last two Burningman's (or is that Burningmen...Hmmm) And she'll be at the next! Comes all the way from Teipei! You should meet up. She's much nicer than I am.

.. so now we know three people other than ourselves who (may) be going.. .. groovy.
Is there a vegetarian alternative to the salmon, incidentally?

Brazed marinated tofu steaks with wild mushrooms and asparagus. Followed by a salad of mixed greens from the Fraser Valley with a bloodorange vinagrette. Finishing with mixed wild berries including Salmonberrys, Saskatoon, and Blackberries covered in a light Yukon Jack based glaze.
Wines will be a selection from the Okanogan Valley.

.. that sounds rather astonishingly nice.
And you're putting this up on offer to we poor mortals why?

I like to cook, and I am an *Ovo-lacto Piscatarian* according to the Vegan threads. But most of what I eat is veggie.
Of course, unless we plan well it will be cold and in a brown paper bag!

*nods*.. fair enough. .. I've been vegetarian for almost a decade, although for the first few years I did eat fish. (I was, once, vegan, but I found the diet impossible to stick to and be healthy)

We would love to meet Ms Zoomer, CL. If she would like to meet us, of course!
I do know what you mean about impractical diets. I eat loads of veg, loads of soup, loads of salad, and whatever else appeals to me. Both wheat and dairy products are bad for me, and unfortunately when you travel you get almost no vegetable dishes which include non-animal proteins and no wheat. As a result I do eat meat, though I have moral qualms about it.
Are you really proposing cooking for us CLZ? Is this WISE? Do you have ANY IDEA how much GTB and I can eat at a sitting, if we have just driven down from the mountains?

Vegan is very tough, and you have to have an incredibly diverse amount of food available for it to be interesting and healthy. I tried it for a while and backslid into a modified *vegitarianism* that includes dairy from goats and sheep and eggs from organic, freerange sources I know. Plus some seafood which I have been addicted to for as long as I remember. Works for me, don't know why some people attack me about it.

AGCB- I will bring a *sampler* but I really think we should meet in a pub or something nicer. *Mrs* Zoomer so far wants nothing to do with any of you, although that might change. She was born in London (I don't hold that against her) and would probably love your company.

btw, if you had *just driven down from the mountains* you made some amazing time, unless you mean the Coastal range, which is not as big as the Rockies, only like something you would find in Switzerland.
