My given name is Jennifer, although most people call me Jen, so Genevieve (with an grave accent on the third "e") is the name I use in french class, being the most similar to Jennifer. Hmmm. They make us choose names at the beginning of the year, usually a holdover from last year's name. It's pronounced differently in french though. Not like the dog in Madeline. I think both names come from the same root (I'm into etymology).

My parents called me genevieve coz i have grandparents called jenny and eve... not the usual reason im sure. Since then it transpires she isnt just a dog, but a car, the patron saint of paris and of course the french translation of King Arthur's wife. I have a grave thingie on my 3rd E too. Im not french though, im half dutch. Confusion basically. What's etymology? x

Viojen 2*16+1+3+6=42. Fencing-it's escrime! Posted May 31, 2003
Etymology-form the Greek "etymos" meaning true, and "logos", meaning word, quite literally the studay of a word's orgins and/or development.
Basically means I'm a word freak. There's the Cult of the Dictionary Readers that you can join if you're intersted. You'll find a link on my page.
How do you pronounce your name then, if you use the french spelling? Do you still pronounce it the english way?
And let confusion reign rampant!

Hi there then. Don't worry about butting in. Now I know how you found my other page (I run the cult). Always want to know how people keep popping up there, as it's not advertised (yet-Desus ex Machina wants me to place a classified ad in thepost) Glad to have met you, and have you considered joining the YOung Researcher's Club? You're always welcome there (until you turn 18).
I hope you're enjoying your sojourn here. I'm on pretty often, so if there are any questions, feel free to ask.

Yaz... this is waht the kabilarians say your name means... the address is www.kabilarians.com
The name Yasmin creates a dual nature in that you can be very generous and understanding, but you can also be so candid in your expression that you create misunderstanding. You struggle with the requirement to soften your expression with tact and diplomacy and to consider the feelings of others. Difficulty in accepting advice or admitting that you may have made a mistake causes you to appear to be stubborn and set in your ways. Thus, you have too often created the wrong impression, and friendships have suffered. This name does offer creative talent where there is the opportunity for ingenuity and originality. You have a tendency, at times, to have too many ideas on the go, and thus your efforts are scattered and many things do not reach completion. You are inclined to do to excess the things you like to do. You have very intense feelings and find it difficult to maintain stability and happiness. If you allowed it, temper and self-pity could be problems.

:O! That's.......so unfortunately true!!! How awful :S
What is one to do?
Maybe I need to tell everyone that so that they are warned before they try to be my friend or go out with me *sorry am in selfpitying mood*
Back to the name of genevieve....I've got a friend called genevieve and her brother's called....wait for it....Edmund! I can't think about it without conjuring Blackadder!
Do we know if middle names have any bearing on us? You know like.....if my middle name was Edith (its actually Victoria) then Id be maladjusted due to teasing?

So you pronounce it the french way, but your nickname is Gen? Makes sense, I suppose. Someone my friend knows is Genevieve the enlish way, and is called Genny for short. I really hate that name, even with a "j" .
I think there was something else I was going to say, but I forgot. I'll get back to you on that.

Oh yeah. Do you two know eachother in RL?
The only person on here that I've met is Renee, U219331. She's my cousin, so I recruited her. (She recommended the books to me a year or two after I had read them, so I *knew* she was a safe bet) We're going to visit her family this weekend.

I just like to be nice to people! If you think I might be some sort of axemurderer then you can go look at my website
(link on my space). Theres some pics of me on there in RAF pics, at the bottom of the CCF page.
I'd like to know people properly though.

You use alab*stard?! I *hate* that skin, all washed out and pale and generally yukky. I guess it's default now?
Have you tried something else? Goo is very pretty and goo-like (sorry, forgot, the tecnical name is classic goo), although it can take a bit to load (if you've got a 56 k modem. I don't know if it's a problem with high-speed stuff). Brunel is also quite nice, my current skin of choice (I use goo when I have hours to sit around waiting for stuff to load). Clean and functional, loads quickly. Has lots of button to press, useful for smileys and GuideML.
I only asked 'cause you were new but seemed to know each other pretty well.
I can't get the link to work for pictures.

No I'm all new and ikkle and scaredy.
I'll go change my skin just to please you! *sighs*
You didnt say if you'll be my friend!

I just honestly think that you'll find that you like one of the other skins better. Unless you have a thing for anemia, most people dislike alab*stard.
I got to your main site, but the like to the pictures page isn't working.
and . I'll be your friend. (but I think you're getting your conversations confused. Go look at the one for the YRC.)

Aaaagh! I keep missing bits of post. Ok - hello.... Im a classic gooooooooooooooo person. Makes me think of the vogon stuff. Ever seen the illustrated guide? It makes me think of the vogons in that.
Will you be my friend too? or i'll get jealous....
Nope me and Yaz don't know each other in RL - there's a distance of several counties between us.
I used to be a genny and i used to have english pronunciation, but i got bored with it and changed. I have weird nick names like vegas and generellavivlasvegalina or generellasparklebabe.... weird stuff my friends call me, so basically I answer to anything....

Oi! Our Kid then
Let's all be nice and say where we come from, and....what time zone we're in. I can't cope with trying to work out how many hours I have to wait for a reply.
I now have brunel. It's....interesting Took me a while to get used to and it loads slower. It also doesn't hide behind other windows very well when I'm supposed to be working, like now.

brunel is nice actually.....I haven't tried goo yet. I'll go try now. If it takes ages to load then I'll blame you!
