I've just read that Nicholas Brendon who played Xander on Buffy is 41 today. I'm suddenly feeling awfully old and learning my first crush, the guy who confirmed my sexuality, is 41 makes me want to curse the young and bemoan the all to rapid passage of time.
Now if you'll excuse me I'm off to chase some kids off my lawn whilst waving my walking stick.

I've never seen Buffy. Perhaps I should.
I'm currently reading Twilight by proxy (by which I mean I'm not actually reading Twilight: I'm reading Ana Mardoll's analysis of Twilight). And whatever you might say about the deeply problematic text, the actors are nice to look at.

The Twilight leads do little and less for me but Nicholas Brendon in a Speedo? You really should watch Buffy TRiG - it was truly classic and has had a huge influence on TV, especially genre shows, sice it aired.
Twilight is worth reading. It won't keep you long because Meyers is an awful author with the writing age of a toddler. Whoever ghost-wrote the 4th book wasn't bad though.

Hmm. Methinks I may look that up.
Problem: I am incapable of watching films (or any TV shows other than panel games and perhaps really top class documentaries) on my own. I somehow need someone else in the room, to watch it with, or a lose interest. I really couldn't say why.

True, 41 is not old but when you remember the guy playing a teenager suddenly the world turns upside down.

How can that be?
TRiG, I second the Buffy recommendation. It's superb on so many levels.

My best mate is 41 and my main drinking buddies are pushing 50 so it's not like I think he's irredeemably old but as Vip says it was only 5 minutes ago he was playing a teenager. To find out your first crush is old enough to legitimately have a mid-life crisis is one of those awareness-shifting moments.
