I can't remember the names of the characters, but Gilda and Bill Murray were teenagers and Jane Curtin was Gilda's mom and she always fed them egg salad sandwiches and the sketches usually ended with Bill giving Gilda a noogie. And Gilda was the hyperactive kid bouncing on the bed when she was supposed to be going to sleep and no one would believe her when she said there were monsters in her room.

And have we mentioned the Church Lady or Dana Carvey's Ross Perot?

Good grief! I can't believe I forgor about the Coneheads. I loved the halloween sketch where they gave 6 packs of beer and fried eggs to the trick or treaters. smiley - laugh

yes, the coneheads...as for the 'noogies', it was lisa loopner (sp?) with bill murray as 'todd' and jane curtin as mrs. loopner (which led to the coneheads with ackroyd, jane and...the other skinny girl....can't remember 'must consume mass quantities')....gilda as a little girl bouncing on the bed was a tribute to lily tomlin on the even older 'laugh-in' show where lilly rocked back and forth on a giant rocking chair, giving a kid's perspective on something with the tag line 'and that's the truth. ppppppfffffgggghhhhttt'

yep, that's them/it/whatever. edith ann...'sock it to me' judy carne...ruth buzzi smacking the 'dirty old man' arte johnson with her purse...goldie hawn in a bikini, giggling. 'laugh-in' broke new ground in the late 60's, and there was a show called 'that was the week that was' that would show news clips and do off-beat commentary.
we ain't old....yet....vague memories of ernie kovacs in B&W, and soupy sales....white fang....

Jodan - sadly we won't be able to reference your SNL entry just yet - we only link to other Edited Guide Entries in these collaborative topics. But once it's been through Peer review we can always link them later.

Good work so far, by the way

I thought so, I don't mind, but sadlier I don't think I'll have time to work on it much. But with this thread, it has reminded me and I'll probably work on it over the weekend, if I remember.
