Just out of interest, are you diverting all the email messages to your Bluebottle account? Or are you going to keep all those separate emails going?

They all divert to either [email protected] or [email protected] which divert to whatever e-mail address I'm using at the moment, before it fills up and I move onto the next one.
I'm currently using [email protected] as I filled up 2000, 2001 and 2002. I've got 2004 and 2005 all ready

I suppose if you sign up all of them for the rest of the century, the minimum checking time would probably run out, correct?

Okay, I'm going to sign up to [email protected] just to annoy you;-P

Now you see why the house rules don't advise posting your email address on the site. I'm just being though

I expect that the Internet will be replaced by something far more efficient before I've had time to.

True. You'll be able to fill virtual filing cabinets in vitual buildings with all the video mail... or something like that
Where did you come up with Caladan then?

Actually on an unrelated issue, did you get my email from the Acesforum? Any chance of checking out http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/F9598?thread=109224 ? In the absence of the italics, you're probably the most experienced volunteer online

Caladan is the home of House Atreides in Dune. Have you read/seen/played it?

Was it Frank Herbert that wrote it?
It's one of the series that I intend to get around to one day. I tend to pick a new author every year and run through most of their books, so it shouldn't take too long to get round to them

I do about the same, and yes, it was Frank Herbert.
I've read a few of his non-Dune books, and they tend not to be as good. Bizarre, yes, but not quite to the same standard - although one, "The Santagora Barrier" (however it's spelt) was very enjoyable. They are all worth a read, though.

In past years I have done:
Robert Rankin;
Raimond E Feist;
Stephen Donaldson;
Anne McCaffrey.
Rankin is a little weird, he plays to the puns and punchlines a little too much though the Armageddon trilogy is pretty good.

Of those 4, I've only read Stephen Donaldson, but then I have read every single thing he has had published to date. I've thought about Rankin - if I find him cheap second-hand I expect I'll give him a try.
